Along the banks of the Luangwa River, extreme weather conditions spark deadly conflict between Africa’s wildest creatures.
Along the banks of the Luangwa River, extreme weather conditions spark deadly conflict between Africa’s wildest creatures. On one side of the riverbank, an enormous pod of hippos violently jostle for limited space as the river slowly runs dry.
Amongst the adults, young hippo calves stand little chance of survival as they find themselves crushed in the chaos. On the other side of the river, a fearless lioness battles it out with a large crocodile – each one viciously vying to grab their share of a dead hippo carcass. Out here, it's every animal for themselves, and only the strongest will make it to the end of the blisteringly hot summer season.
