In this show new technology sheds light on the secret lives of the world’s largest land mammals – as a small camera is placed on the head of an elephant. Known as the ‘Ele-cam’, viewers will get a totally unique vantage point of the world from an elephant’s perspective. Placed on the head of the herd’s matriarch named Afslurpie, the camera captures some of the families most intimate moments. Through the viewpoint of the elephant, we experience every aspect of their incredible lives - from affection to territorial aggression, hardship and pure carefree joy. While following Afslurpie for a few days, extraordinary new behavior and insight into these animals is revealed. Through the camera lens scientists watch on as the elephant herd partake in a rare ceremony of homage, as they mourn for their oldest elephant and supreme matriarch Buttercup, who had recently died of old age. What else can we learn from this wild and one-of-a-kind experiment? Watch Ele-Tele to find out!
